I'm sorry for all you had to witness. For the chaos I couldn't shield you from. I'm sorry for every moment you felt fear, confusion, or sadness that no child should ever have to feel.

I tried to protect you with everything I had, but I know some of the pain still reached you. I promise to spend every day making sure your hearts are safe, your joy is protected, and your story is one of love and healing.

You carried pieces of my pain just so l wouldn't have to hold it alone. I can never thank you enough for choosing me, over and over, when I didn't even know how to choose myself.

To My Aunt & Uncle

Thank you for being the hands that reached out when I was drowning. For showing up over and over with open arms, open hearts, and steady strength.

You saw the pain in my silence. You saw me at a vegetable state when i didn't think i could keep going.

You helped protect my children's joy when mine was slipping away. You gave us a place to breathe again.

But the moment life broke open, you became my sister.

You saw the ugliest moments when I was shattered, silenced, afraid. And instead of walking away, you leaned in.
